Past, present and future
NGP was created in 2007 by WWF, with the participation of a number of government forest departments and private companies that manage forest plantations. Over the years, it has evolved into a leading platform for sharing knowledge, best practices and collaborative learning about landscape restoration and forest plantations.

NGP: An Ecosystem of Collaboration
Today, NGP is part of WWF’s Forests Forward programme, working with companies, communities, funders and other organizations to support the restoration of forest landscapes. Participants are involved in practical action on the ground, and in originating a pipeline of bankable projects that can attract further investment and create a wider impact.
NGP is working towards the implementation of it's concept on the ground, currently being implemented in landscape projects in Viet Nam, Laos, Uganda, Mozambique, Kenya and Brazil.
The NGP ‘ecosystem of collaboration’ brings together a community of people and organizations from civil society, the private and public sectors, and academia, to develop solutions that can transform the landscapes where we work and have a greater impact where it matters most. Study tours and communications are at the heart of NGP's work, and will help participants to connect with opportunities, topics, and people from around the world.
Through our network of technical specialists, researchers, foresters and communicators, NGP catalyses knowledge on a variety of topics, including climate change, biodiversity, landscape restoration, sustainable development and the bioeconomy.
